This shrub grows pink flowers and bright red spiny fruits, it is also known as the lipstick tree because it contains brightly colored red annatto seeds.
Since ancient Mayan civilization, indigenous tribes have used this plant for not
only it’s medicinal properties but have relied on the seeds for body paint and
arts & crafts !
